Responsibility and sustainability are what determine our success

Company mission statement

It is our mandate and business to treat and dispose of waste. The focus is on landfilling. It is our task to ensure the safe and secure disposal of waste, to operate the landfill in accordance with the highest possible standards and to responsibly meet our recultivation and follow-up obligations arising from our involvement in this business segment.

We meet our responsibilities with respect to people and the environment. This is the guiding principle behind the way we do business.
We are fully aware of the risks associated with depositing waste materials. The minimisation of the risks for our staff and the environment have the utmost priority for us. We harmonise ecological and social aspects with the economical requirements. We see ourselves as employees of a national organisation that has pledged to serve the good of the general public.

We are a competent and reliable contact and contract partner for our customers, who also fosters direct contact. We offer our customers technically optimised and legally compatible waste disposal possibilities.

We promote and foster the knowledge and skills of our employees. With our participation in regional and pan-regional expert committees, we are participating in the current developments taking place in our branch.

Legal circumstances

IAG mbH is a complete subsidiary of the Federal State's GAA – Gesellschaft für Abfallwirtschaft und Altlasten Mecklenburg-Vorpommern mbH (Company for waste management and contaminated waste) with headquarters in Selmsdorf. GAA mbH on the other hand is completely owned by the Federal State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The shareholder function is assumed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Enviroment of the Federal State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Compliance – Is not a foreign word for us

Compliance for us means adhering with the rules, in concrete terms this means complying with the laws and guidelines, as well as the laying down of behaviour standards to be adhered with within the company.

We have put operational instructions with task descriptions and clearly defined competencies in place for the procedures and processes within our company.

For us, adhering with the rules also means allowing controls to be conducted by third parties, as well as conducting our own controls in order to ensure adherence with, for example, environmental protection and health and safety at work.

Our company's management have also agreed on a behaviour codex to be adhered with by themselves and all the company's employees.

The behaviour codex serves as an ethical and legal guide for all our employees on how to behave within our company, as well as towards business partners and competitors in order to concretely implement our values.

The controls and implementation of the behavioural codex also mean an effective corruption prevention, e.g. binding rules in relation to the acceptance and giving of business gifts. It is a matter of fact that all our employees adhere with the behaviour codex. Should you nevertheless still have questions, we have a compliance officer as a contact person in order to answer these.
